 What is computer? 

• 'Computer' word is derived from Latin word 'Computare' which means to 'calculate' or 'compute'. 
•  A Computer is an electronic data processing and calculating machine which accepts raw data, process them and gives out meaningful results.
•   It performs task in 3 steps: Input, Process and Output, also known as IPO cycle.  

Features of computer 

• Speed: Computer is a very high speed electronic device which perform million or trillion of task at a same time. Speed of computer is usually measured in Mhz or Ghz. 
• Accuracy: Computer produce 100% accurate result. Computer produce wrong output only when the input is wrong. This is termed as GIGO(Garbage In Garbage Out).
• Reliability: As computer produces accureate results, we can rely on the result produced by computer. 
• Storage:  Computer has internal memory as well as secondary memory which stored large amount of data and program for furthur use. 
• Versatility: Computer can perform many tasks at a same time simultaneously. The capability of a computer to perform different tasks with same accuracy and efficiency. 
• Dilligence: Computer can perform million of taasks with same consistency and accuracy without getting tired and taking rest. 

The features mentioned above makes the computer highly efficient and reliable for various application.
